Glen-Craig Canine Club – Accredited Dog Judges
We are Kennel Club accredited judges and qualified to give seminars on judging and also able to issue KC Challenge Certificates. We have worked with many top dogs in Northern Ireland and across the whole of the UK.
As accredited judges, we follow the code of practice for judges along with the Kennel Club regulations. Our overall aim and objectives are to reward healthy dogs and to provide value for the training, effort, time, and money that exhibitors and competitors put into presenting their dogs.
Kennel Club Dog Judging Requirements
The Kennel Club requires certain requirements to have been achieved before a person being nominated to award Challenge Certificates for the first time, Aspiring judges are required to:
• Attend a Seminar on the Requirements of a Dog Show Judge focusing on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures and pass an exam delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited Trainer for Regulations and Judging Procedures
• Good Citizen Scheme Assessors of Judges

Judging Profiles
Michael and Kate McCartney are both Kennel Club Accredited Trainers under the KCAI programme run by the Kennel Club. An elite judging programme designed for the best judges throughout the world. They are also IKC and KC Judges, with a multitude of experience between them, as well as judging the coveted Crufts Dog Show Obedience Competitions.
They are international Judges, having been invited to judge in places, including The Netherlands, Abu Dhabi and Singapore. Having judged the Dutch Obedience Championships and the Singapore Championships.
Championship judges in both Agility and Obedience.

Michael has over 35 years of judging experience, in both Obedience and Agility, dog judging all over the UK, and getting the honour of judging the British Open at the International Agility Festival and the Highland Agility finals in Perth, Scotland. He has competed at Crufts and Olympia numerous times.
Kate has over 30 years of judging experience and has competed in the prestigious Dog Obedience Championships at Crufts.
